The Mayor (El-Omda)
The mayor of the Egyptian village has a social function that is conjoined with Egypt countryside. He is the liaisonbetween the government and the citizens and is required to accompany government officials for tasks inside the village. Additionally, he has an important role in solving conflicts and settling disputes as the citizens of the village respect his judgement and decisions.

عمدة القرية المصرية وظيفته اجتماعية والتي ارتبطت بشكل أساسى بالقرية المصرية. وهو همزة الوصل بين الحكومة والمواطنين. ومطلوب منه مرافقة موظفي الحكومة في بعض الأعمال والمهام داخل القرية، إلى جانب دوره الاجتماعي الكبير والفعّال كحل النزاعات وإنهاء الخصومات، ويلتزم برأيه وقراره جميع أهل القرية
